Original: Chloe lived her entire life with one man in North Carolina; he loved her dearly and she loved him. Unfortunately, her companion had to go into a nursing home, and they had to part. He was so distraught and worried about Chloe that he would not go until he was able to work out some type of arrangement to guarantee her well-being. He was adamant that he did not want her to go to a shelter. Everywhere he turned, no one would accept an old, blind girl. Finally, a local, very caring, pit bull rescue helped him out by taking Chloe into their program. When MAESSR found out about her, we asked that they give Chloe to us, and they were happy to oblige.
Chloe’s foster home has many other dogs in it, both residents and fosters. In amazing fashion, she has learned her way around although she gravitates toward her foster mom to keep the other dogs from running over her! Chloe has learned to navigate the dog door coming in but has not figured out the going out part yet. It is just a matter of time before she masters that, too. This sweet trooper has done wonderfully with every curve that has been thrown her way.
In great health, Chloe gets around well for a girl of her age. She loves to trot around the yard when her foster family is outside. So that she does not get creaky, she is currently taking a glucosamine supplement and fish oil daily.
Chloe has fantastic house manners. Totally housetrained, she has been accident free while in foster care. Chloe can be crated, but rarely is because there has not been any reason to put her in one. Chloe knows that she is to keep her paws on the floor in the kitchen and not on the edge of the counters! Good girl! If she knows you are in the house and cannot find you, Chloe knows she just needs to bark, and she will be reunited with you. Outside, Chloe likes to walk on a leash and her foster mom feels that it gives her confidence a boost. She also loves to ride in the car or just be with you.
This is an extremely sweet, old girl that just wants a family of her own. Is it you?
