Update 01/22/12:
With a month in foster care, Miss Chloe has gotten well acquainted with a new routine, new humans to live with and a bevy of canines for companionship. She continues to be a total sweetheart……….except when it comes to grooming. As beautiful as she is, Chloe really doesn’t care for the grooming experience. She gets very agitated when her ears, feet and stomach are being cleaned, trimmed and brushed. The resolution to this issue is a basic one; her savvy family has found it easier for everyone if Chloe is muzzled when being tidied up.
Now medication-free, a trial of thyroid supplement Chloe had started did not prove beneficial and has been discontinued. She continues in overall good health as when she arrived.
Chloe has cute and endearing habits. One is her commitment to a 9 o’clock bedtime. If her family is ready to go to bed then, great. If not, she will go without them! Wonder what she’ll do when the time changes………:)). If your curiosity is picked too, ask about meeting Miss Chloe.
Original:
Chloe was taken in by MAESSR when she continued to act inappropriately with the two very young children in her Maryland home. Her family had tried for months to get Chloe to behave better with the children, but there was no improvement in her behavior. It was finally decided that for the safety of the children and for Chloe’s peace of mind, she should find another home without small children.
Chloe has done very well in her foster home. She gets along well with the multiple other dogs and has been great with visiting children age nine and older. Chloe loves to ride in the car, go swimming, play tug of war, and sleep in the bed with her foster parents. This very sweet girl is lots of fun!
Although she is crate-trained, crating her has not been needed since Chloe has wonderful house manners. She also has had basic obedience training and her repertoire of responsive commands includes “sit”, “come”, and “down.” She did well at the vet and she was started on thyroid meds due to low thyroid levels.
Chloe will do well in a family with older children or with adults only who won’t be visited by very young grandchildren. She is a good, loving girl who is full of fun!
