Original: “Chevy has the temperament that all Springers should have. He is a happy, happy boy who is just a cuddly teddy bear.”
Chevy, along with his younger brother Chase, became a MAESSR boy when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Fortunately for these Pennsylvania boys, MAESSR is in the business of finding sweet Springers new homes!
Reportedly, Chevy has always been friendly to people of all ages and has behaved gently around children. He lived with cats and was very good with them. He got along famously and loved to play with his brother and has since shown himself to be amiable with other dogs as well.
This large guy is housetrained, but not crate trained. Having the run of the house has not been a problem for him although he does love to chew on socks if he happens to find one lying around. Since he is a well mannered Springer, he does not counter-surf or trash dive; he can be a bit of a beggar and might lick his person’s hand trying to get some of the always tempting people food! As for night time, he knows that he is supposed to sleep in the bed with his foster parents.
Chevy knows a few commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “down,” and “paw.” He enjoys squeaky toys and having a ball thrown for him. He does pull on the leash when he is walked—he would much prefer to run, thank you very much. He thinks car rides are a good thing. While he loves the water, he is startled by loud noises and terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks.
Handsome enjoys being brushed and is normally good with having his ears and feet handled; he was a champ at the groomers and is so much happier now that his ears are all clean and his skin infection is gone.
Chevy has the temperament that all Springers should have. He is a happy, happy boy who is just a cuddly teddy bear. Do you have room in your home and a spot in your bed for this all around good boy?
