Chester and his buddy Domino were found in a shelter by one of our volunteers. Unfortunately, we were full to capacity and had no room for them. These dogs were too sweet to risk. So, we pulled them right before they were to be put to sleep and boarded them in a kennel for a week. During that week, we took them to the vet, got them their shots and had them neutered. While still being boarded, Chester was adopted.
UPDATE: Chester was adopted by a young couple as their first dog. He is doing well. He loves all of the attention he is getting and they love having such an affectionate dog.
UPDATE: From his adoptive family: We had all of his shots updated in January (we had to in order to get Chester re-licensed in our town). Our boy is doing great. He went thru obedience classes with a trainer and was an all-star student! My cousins just got a German Shepherd puppy and Chester is getting along with him really well. At first, he was very territorial but now he is settled in and lets the puppy climb all over him. I hope to get a picture of that too. Besides that, Ches has made some friends in our apartment complex (his best friend is a Dachshund named “Snickers”). He is a great dog and our first baby! I can’t believe that it is nearly a year since we have had time. Time flies!
