Original: Chester is a 23 pound youngster whose “puppy energy” was too much for his original family. He was dropped at a Pennsylvania shelter and adopted out, but then, was returned for chewing. Since this is all normal behavior for a springer pup, he was welcomed by his MAESSR foster mom who knows that tiring him out is the best way to help him grow up.
Chester loves to play ball and will return it to his foster mom again and again. He lives with two resident springers and will play with the male, rough housing in the basement for hours until they both collapse from exhaustion. The female springer isn’t too sure she likes Chester, so when she growls at him, he just ignores her. He loves any toy but prefers a stuffed animal for more play. A big chair in the basement is his favorite place to lounge when he finally winds down. He hasn’t met children in his foster home yet but his foster mom feels he probably has too much energy to live with toddlers that he might bump into.
This youngster is housebroken and whines when it’s time to go out. He is started on basic commands and is learning that jumping on people is inappropriate. If he hears a noise, he will bark and then quiet down when his foster mom says it’s ok. He hasn’t counter-surfed yet but gets excited at mealtime and does a little dance….too cute! He is also crate trained.
His foster mom knows Chester is a love bug who will lay for hours just to be petted. She knows this boy will benefit from obedience training and thinks he will do quite well, but for now, he is just happy to get the attention from his “training sessions.” Chester is the sweetest little dog and a happy boy when he is getting to play and be loved. Some family who loves a playful, loving dog needs to include Chester in their home. Is he for you??
