Original: “99% housetrained and crate trained, Cheer uses the doggie door in his foster home when he needs to go out.”
Cheer arrived at his MAESSR foster home along with his mother Holiday from a shelter in northern West Virginia where they had been found as strays. Son and mom have both settled in quickly and became immediate friends with the three resident dogs. Cheer is an adorable and friendly puppy who loves to be with humans all the time!
99% housetrained and crate trained, Cheer uses the doggie door in his foster home when he needs to go out. He is a smart puppy who has already learned the commands “come,” “sit,” “lie down,” and “shake hands”! Cheer is so eager to please and he very much likes to go on walks and so he walks well on a leash. He is very comfortable riding in the car in his crate. He sleeps in his crate at night and when his foster family is out of the house.
Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Cheer be at the head of his class!
Cheer has a wonderful temperament and is friendly with every person and animal he has met so far. Even at the vet appointment, he never stopped saying hello to everyone and wagging his tail! The vet indicated that he is in great condition and he will be neutered soon. He enjoys being groomed very much and especially likes the hair dryer. He was fine when his foster parents used the dremel on his nails. He truly is a super boy!
This young pup likes to play with toys and especially likes tennis balls. If some of the resident dogs or his mom or better yet one of his people join in his play, that is even better! Even though he loves to play, he will come immediately when called! What a good puppy! He only chews on puppy toys and has not chewed on any inappropriate objects in his foster home.
Cheer is a wonderful boy who will make a family so very happy!
