Charlotte is that rare combination of Springer Spaniel and monkey! With those long legs and dexterous little toes, she can scale any fence. Unfortunately, this behavior had earned her forced captivity of being chained while outside in North Carolina with her previous family. The family also had two small children which made it very difficult for Charlotte to get enough attention and exercise. So, Charlotte became a MAESSR girl! After two days in her foster home, Charlotte decided she did not need to jump the fence anymore. She was getting enough exercise and attention, so she never leaves the yard even when left outside unattended.
Although she has not had any formal training, Charlotte knows the words “sit,” “down,” and “paw.” She will pull some while on the leash. She does eventually return to the house but gets distracted by all the interesting smells and birds and doesn’t listen. She rides well in the car, though. Reliably housetrained, Charlotte has full freedom of the house when her foster parents are at work.
Charlotte loves to run and flush birds. In her previous home when the husband was home, they would take Charlotte to a military drop zone area– square miles of open ground– and Charlotte would run and run. She also loves to swim and flush birds.
Charlotte is a major cuddler and loves to be close to her people. Do you have the energy to keep up with this girl?
