Charlie is a very vivacious sweet young boy. He has trouble keeping his front two feet on the ground. He is energetic and bouncy. We are working on keeping those feet on the ground and not on humans or doors. He is crate trained and house broken. He has a good appetite and likes to dip his chew bones in his water. He does not mind being brushed but did object a bit at having his nails done. Just fear, nothing else.
He gets along with the other dogs and is learning some dog manners. He is protective of treats while in his crate. Not to humans but he snaps/barks at the crate if a dog walks by him while in possession of something yummy. He will stay outside for hours with another dog but wants inside shortly if by himself. He was very rough with the other dogs and would like to steal things from them. A nip on the ear has given him some respect. I would venture to guess that he was removed from littermates at too young an age. He shows all those signs. Mostly he is easily distracted so we are working on attention. He knows sit and wait and no. He must make eye contact before he is released from wait and to eat. He is very trainable and needs someone to work with him. They must be prepared for a high energy dog. With training, he should make someone a great pet. He is ok with the cat but I have no kids available right now so I don’t know about kids but I would venture to guess he would be great and keep right up with them. I would take care in the treat/food area with small children. He is so young that this should be easily gotten over. Also, he is a whiner/squealer — only because he is so excited all the time. It is amazing the improvement he made in trusting people.
