Charlie was purchased as a puppy by her Rhode Island family. The family has had a really bad year in several areas which caused a lot a stress and upheaval in her home. Charlie started guarding things and would snap and growl. The family sent her to a trainer, but that did not fix the issue. The difficult decision was made that they were not the people to fix Charlie’s issues so they called MAESSR.
Charlie is a sweet little girl, but she likes to get her way–especially if she has stolen something. Her foster family started working with her to trade for a treat. Charlie started catching on to this game very quickly. She did not really understand how to interact with the other dogs in her foster home when she first arrived. She was pushy and bossy. Now, she is doing MUCH better with the other dogs. She is learning how to play with them and have fun!
Housetrained and crate trained, Charlie is reliable inside the house. She will counter-surf every time she has a chance so her foster family keeps the counters free of temptation. Outside on walks, Charlie will pull on the leash but does settle down and then walks fairly well.
Charlie is young and has a lot to learn. Check back to see her progress.
