Original: At 35 pounds, Charlie is a sweet, little girl and they don’t come any cuter. She moved into her foster home without a single problem and felt comfortable the moment she walked through the door. She has enough love to give everyone she meets, including her new best friends, two springers that live at her foster home. She is not aggressive in any way and is very easy to live with. Charlie has not had the opportunity to be with young children in her foster home but was reported to have lived with small children in her original home.
Charlie has a great sense of humor. She loves running in the yard and her favorite pastime is burying her dog biscuits. She will carry a bone around for days before she starts to chew it. Although gentle, she plays hard with her 65 pound, 17-month-old male ESS friend. She is usually found hanging around his neck while they are running in the yard. She is most happy when she’s snoozing on someone’s lap, but she won’t jump on furniture unless she is asked up. That said, when one sits down, they must expect a puppy sitting beside them, if she is encouraged at all! Charlie is a very quiet gal and never barks unless she has to go outside. She does not have a big appetite yet and will eat very small portions.
Charlie is trusting and loves being bathed and groomed. She is not sensitive about her paws and is easy to handle when clipping her nails or cleaning her ears. If she comes in from the yard when it’s raining, she stands very still while her feet are being dried, although she will be sneaking in kisses!
A kennel run suits Charlie but she does not like being put in a crate. She also doesn’t like loud noises. She loves to sleep on her doggie bed and pillow. She enjoys going for a walk on the leash and taking in all the sights and is very happy when taken for a ride in the car.
Charlie was an owner surrender to a Maryland animal control facility. Her foster parents find her to be very gentle and feel she needs a gentle forever home to welcome her and share all the love she has to give. She would benefit from a puppy training class with her new family, too, and will do well because she is very smart. She is a true joy to be around, and everywhere she goes, she leaves some happiness and smiles.
