Original: “The resident Springer reprimands Cezanne a little more than Mozart because she is such a perky, rambunctious little girl.”
As a Springer breeder in Virginia was dying, she asked that her dogs be placed in MAESSR homes. One of the dogs was pregnant and Cezanne is one of six puppies born in her litter. The pups stayed with their mom in one foster home until they were weaned. Then, they were divided in groups of two and sent to new foster homes.
Cezanne came to her foster home with her sibling, Mozart. Together, they immediately took to the resident two-year-old Springer in the house. They follow her every move, learning how to behave by following her lead. To imprint a signal for the girls to use when they need to go out, their foster parents have been ringing the bells that are hanging on the back kitchen door. Once this sound is repeated often enough, they girls will know to ring the bells to be let out to do their business. Cezanne is crate trained, and is still learning to sleep through the night.
Cezanne loves to snuggle with her sister, play with toys, eat, and spend time outdoors. She has the sweetest howl, and alerts her foster mom that feeding time is approaching. Her favorite toy is the one her sister is currently playing with! The neighborhood kids are in love with the two sibling puppies. She gets excited to see them and knows they are coming over to pet and play with her. She has not been exposed to cats yet—just the resident dog and the kids.
Cezanne is the typical active puppy. She loves to wrestle with her sibling, follow the resident Springer around the kitchen, and play with a tug-toy with her. The resident Springer reprimands Cezanne a little more than Mozart because she is such a perky, rambunctious little girl. Watch your toes! She loves to nibble them.
The two pups have taken a few car rides and are noisy little girls during the trip, but that will change as they go out for more rides. When they took their first trip to the vet, everyone fell madly in love. How couldn’t they immediately fall in love? Cezanne received a clean bill of health at her first trip and is getting her puppy vaccinations according to schedule.
Potential adopters should note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the puppies in obedience class. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things. The decision to get a puppy, and raise it to be a healthy, happy, well adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year and younger to enroll in puppy obedience classes within 60 days of adoption.
If you like having your toes nibbles and enjoy a pre-meal howl, Cezanne just might be the puppy for you!
