Along with his sister, Sheba, Ceasar came into MAESSR’s care when their owner of 8 years was moving from his home in Pennsylvania and could not take them with him. After a lifetime of togetherness, separating these two was unthinkable and both were welcomed by one foster family with a very big heart. From the start one could see these little springers were very, very sweet. Both were so adorable and had great personality; Ceasar was the trouble-maker”……..:))!
Ceasar arrived with some known health issues that are all too common in aged seniors. He had some hearing loss and arthritis that made stairs difficult. His vision was compromised with blindness in one eye and loss in the other. As he explored his new home, there was some bumping into Sheba and other obstacles but together they were able to locate the treat bag and help themselves! Even at 16, their Springer noses were working well!!
Unfortunately, over the coming weeks, other health issues surfaced. Ceasar tested positive for Lyme disease. He was losing weight and eventually lost his appetite. Cognitive dysfunction syndrome was apparent, and, particularly difficult to see him deal with from day to day. Simply getting around the house was something that gave him much difficulty.
Two weeks after celebrating his 16th birthday, his foster family made a tough decision and helped Ceasar pass over to Rainbow Bridge with this whisper in his ear – love you, mon petit Ceasar. His sister misses him very much too.
