Update 03/19/03:
Casey’s foster mom reports that he is making big strides in foster care. Casey has seemed to have stopped his leg lifting. We didn’t have to do anything other than correct him when the behavior started. He is adjusting well to our way of life and seems to have slowed down on being a food hog. He loves being outside and likes to spend a lot of time out, however the weather the last few days might be why. He likes to chase balls and bring them back. He will even drop the ball for you so you can throw it again.
Casey went to the groomers yesterday, and his mats and tangles are gone. He looks much smaller without all the hair but is still a beautiful boy. He likes to wake up early, between 5 and 6 AM and is ready to go for the day – even before I’ve had my coffee. He really loves squeaky toys, so much so that I’ve decided when it is time for him to go there will be a few in his pouch.

Casey was brought into a Pennsylvania Humane Society as a stray. Casey is playful, loving, and wants to be loved. He listens very well (he knows when I’m telling him sit, lie down, stay, etc.) and has obviously been through obedience training. Casey lets his foster mom brush, clean ears, etc. with no fear. When he jumps up on furniture, he gets down immediately when told, but acts innocent like he didn’t do it. When we first brought him home, he was terrible on a leash. He is doing better know that he is being walked regularly. Casey is also a gentleman in the car. He is content to sit in the back seat and look out the window.
Casey will eat the other dogs food. He does need to be fed separately but is not aggressive. Casey is prone to hike his leg in the house. (We don’t know if this is because there is another male dog in the house or because he’s not been neutered yet.) He will stop immediately if we notice and correct him and send him outside right away. He gets along well with children ages 11 and older. He gets along with most other dogs but did growl and bark at of the neighbors’ dog. He has been around a 4-year-old child and did well. However, he was excited to see her and could have knocked her down. We are not sure of how he would get along with cats, but on walks he has gone tried to chase after them.
Casey would make a wonderful family pet and would probably do well if there was another dog. He is a good natured dog with a good temperament, but he will require someone who has the time to be with him.
Can you provide Casey with the love and time he deserves?
