Casey was purchased by a man who raised Setters and wanted a Springer to take to field trials. She was kept in a kennel, not socialized and quickly failed as a trial dog. She came into rescue timid, frightened, not housebroken and unused to houses. She has really started to blossom. Her housebreaking is nearly complete. Where before she would not go into the yard alone, she will venture out a little by herself.
Casey received little or no socialization so everything scares her. She is terrified of a leash, hates cars and doesn’t want to go out the front door. Her foster mom is working with her on all of these things. She is improving all of the time. She will need a steady, gentle hand in her new home. Her new family must have a lot of patience for this timid girl. She should rebound from most of this nicely, but it will take time. Casey is not the girl for a rambunctious busy household or a family who wants to take her everywhere right from the start. But, she will make someone a great dog.
