Caroline came into rescue with George. Their owner just doesn’t have enough time for them. She is good with children over two. She is crate-trained but has full run of the house.
Both dogs are trained off leash. Caroline gets along better then George with other dogs. They are littermates and were not socialized with other dogs. Their owner is working on separating them and socializing them with other dogs. They are responding well. They currently live outside during the day and inside in their owners’ bedroom at night. They pull when on a leash. They do get on the furniture. They do not chew. George returns the ball, but Caroline does not.
Update:
Caroline is a three y/o, liver and white, spayed, female springer spaniel. She is currently living with her brother George. Both dogs are being given up because the owners do not have enough time to spend with the dogs and have started traveling with their jobs.
Caroline and George greeted me at the door with much enthusiasm. After we got acquainted, we went to the kitchen for some playtime. Caroline watched George as he ran for the ball. He would drop it for me to throw and she would pick it up. She would give the ball to me, but would not retrieve it.
Caroline is a bit overweight. She is very active, but needs some exercise. Caroline likes to counter surf. She will snatch anything within reach on the counter tops. Caroline let me look in her ears and rub them. She initially tried to pull her feet back, but gave in and let me examine them. She let me look at her teeth with no problem.
Caroline and George will wait until told okay to eat their food.
Caroline is good with kids and other dogs. She tries her best not to jump up and greet, but sometimes the excitement is just too much for her.
Caroline was trained with an electric fence. She is leash trained, but needs to brush up on her skills.
After a short time in rescue – Caroline went to her new home.
