Butch is a 13-year-old, black and white, neutered male, with a long tail that wags almost constantly. He was pulled from a shelter in Maryland. His former family was moving and could not take him with them.
It is hard to believe this boy is 13 years old. He can run up and down the stairs like a rocket. He LOVES to go for walks and has a nice spring to his step. He walks well on leash and does not pull. He sometimes gets going a little too fast but will slow down when asked. He will be patient for a few minutes when we stop to chat with neighbors, but then he will cry, saying, Come on, let’s GO!!
Butch gets along well with all dogs and people he has met. (though, he did bark at the UPS man and his truck, naturally.) He is gentle with small children. He is extremely affectionate and likes to nuzzle his head against your body. He rolls over for belly rubs.
Butch has very good house manners. He has had no accidents in the house. He does not get up on furniture. He sleeps on a doggy bed in the bedroom. He is not crate-trained. He seems to fear the crate and will not go in. We have not pushed this, because he is a good boy if left loose in the house.
Update:
Butch’s foster family fell in love with him. He is now a member of their family. Way to go Butch!!
