Original: “An active Springer boy, Buster loves to play fetch and run and reportedly loves to swim.”
When his Pennsylvania family’s five year old child started playing extremely rough with Buster, he started to protect himself against the mistreatment. The parents were unable get the child to understand how to be appropriate with a dog. Having a whistle blown loudly in his face finally caused Buster to grumble and snap at the child to get her to stop. So, to protect both Buster and the children, Buster’s owners contacted MAESSR to find him a new home.
Buster’s relinquishing family purchased him as a small pup and he has generally been a good family member getting along with the children aged three and five. The older neighborhood kids enjoyed playing with him as he is a friendly, active young Springer. His foster home has multiple dogs in it and Buster does well with all of them. He runs and plays with most of them.
Housetrained and crate trained, Buster stays in his crate when his foster parents are away from home. Although he doesn’t like when strangers walk up to him while he is in his crate, otherwise he is fine. He is not much of a barker and jumps up on people to greet them.
This smart boy knows the commands “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “down,” “paw,” and “heel.” Buster walks well on leash and is trusted off leash. He also rides very well in the car.
An active Springer boy, Buster loves to play fetch and run and reportedly loves to swim. He would do well in an active family with older children who would help him burn off some of his youthful energy.
