Original: “Outside, he’s a typical Springer; he loves chasing squirrels and deer and going on a run.”
Buddy came to MAESSR because his Virginia family was worried about some of his behaviors around their young children. After a lengthy consultation with a MAESSR volunteer, all agreed Buddy would be better in a home without youngsters.
While Buddy had no issues with another dog in his original home, he does not like strange dogs coming up to him and will bark/snap at them if they stay in his face. In his foster home, there are many foster and resident dogs and Buddy has been fine with them.
This youngster was crate trained when he was a pup, but with his great house manners, he no longer needs that contraption—what a good Buddy!! Outside, he’s a typical Springer; he loves chasing squirrels and deer and going on a run. But, inside—also typical Springer—he loves napping and watching the world go by from the comfort of the sofa! And, at night, of course, the only place to be is in the bed with his foster parents.
Buddy walks well on the leash and loves to go for car rides. He also was well behaved when taken to the groomers—they loved him!
This young man will be looking for an adult/young adult only home where he can continue to learn boundaries and receive a lot of love and attention. Space to run, squirrels to chase, a nice soft sofa, a comfy bed and people of his own would complete Buddy’s list to Santa.
