Buddy was relinquished to MAESSR when the owner’s son (who has multiple cardiac problems) was diagnosed with asthma. Unfortunately, when the boy was tested for allergies, it was found that he was allergic to dogs as well as many other allergens. The family tried to relieve the allergic reaction with medications, but this did not work. So, MAESSR was contacted to find this sweet North Carolina Springer a wonderful new home.
A really great boy in his foster home, Buddy is totally housetrained and has fine house manners. That said, he does love to get on the furniture and definitely has to sleep in the bed with someone at night! His current favorite to sleep with is his foster dad who does not mind a fuzzy Springer snoring next to him.
When it is time to go on errands, Buddy likes to ride along in the car and is an excellent passenger. When it is walk time, he pulls on the leash in the beginning but quickly settles down and is an enjoyable walking companion. Buddy has been a fun play companion for the multiple dogs in his foster home. Having so many play buddies for this Buddy has been great!
At his physical at the vet’s office, Buddy tested positive for Erlichea but is non-symptomatic. Just to be on the safe side, he is being treated with an antibiotic for this tick-borne illness. MAESSR never cuts corners when it comes to the health of its foster dogs, doing everything possible to make sure they are in good health. So, when Buddy came into foster care with a cough, his foster mom at first thought he had a touch of kennel cough; however, it was not that. The vet is still trying to determine the cause of the cough, but even though it has not been positively determined yet, Buddy is on antibiotics just in case it is some type of infection. Don’t worry, though; Buddy’s overall health is good.
Soon, Buddy will be ready to join his forever family. He has lots of love to share with them!
