Original: Buddy’s family moved to a rural area of Pennsylvania, and he thought he was in heaven since there were so many small animals for him to chase. When he caught a porcupine the second time, he received well over 100 quills in his neck, mouth, and throat area. After extensive treatment by his vet with over four hours of surgery to remove most of the quills, his owners made the reluctant decision to find a new home for him. They contacted MAESSR knowing they would find a porcupine-free home for Buddy.
This handsome boy has lovely house manners. He is housetrained, crate trained, and does not counter surf or jump on the furniture or beds. When his foster parents are out of the house, Buddy stays in the kitchen with the three resident dogs. When the resident cat is around, Buddy is tolerant of its presence. In the car, Buddy is a great passenger. He understands sit, stay, and the command okay to signal when he can start eating. Although he is a high energy boy, he walks well on a leash.
Although he is seven years old, Buddy has the energy of a two-year-old. He loves to run and play with the resident dogs. One of his favorite activities is retrieving and he always has a ball or toy in his mouth. A boy has to be prepared in case someone would want to throw a ball for him! A real water dog, Buddy loves to swim and fetch his toys in the water.
At the end of an active day of play, Buddy is quite the Velcro Springer! Wouldn’t you like a faithful friend to be fastened to your heart?
