Update 08/27/09: Buddy has come back to MAESSR because of major health issues in his adopting family. He was with them for about a year and is now a 5-year-old. He remains in great health and takes an active but easy-going approach to life.
Since returning Buddy is just as wonderful and fantastic as he was the first time he was in foster care. He is simply a great dog. He has good house manners and loves people. This boy is ready to be someone’s FOREVER Buddy!!!!! Don’t miss the chance to welcome him into your home.
Original: This sweet boy is about as mellow as springers come and as cute with his beautiful liver and white coat with ticking on his lower legs! He came to MAESSR when his owner from Delaware passed away.
Buddy’s super house manners are evident in his foster home where he uses his crate willingly and seldom jumps up on people. Totally housebroken, he has not had a single accident in the house during his stay with his foster family. Buddy is given free range of the house when his foster people are at home and has proven himself very trustworthy. When they are at work, Buddy is crated. Sit, come, and off are commands to which Buddy responds readily. He loves to be with his people, big or small, and if you ask, he’ll oblige you with kisses too! Buddy’s kisses aren’t too sloppy, but the same can’t be said for his drinking habits. But nobody’s perfect, and all his other wonderful qualities far outweigh a little water on the floor.
Since coming into foster care, Buddy has been a finicky eater. One wouldn’t know it from his large frame. This friendly fellow needs a family that can take him for walks and toss a few tennis balls to help him lose a few pounds. The walking will be easy with Buddy as he pulls very little on the leash, despite his large size. He will bark to show his excitement when you get home at the end of a long day or to let you know that company has arrived. Other than that, he’s content to be your quiet shadow.
Buddy is such a laid back, easy-going boy that he’d like a family of his own or one with a canine with a similar kind heart that won’t be too bossy with him. Buddy is a willing car rider and will jump in any open door. Are you ready for an easy ride with an easy-going boy?
