Brownie found herself at a Pennsylvania shelter because her owners said that their children had developed allergies to her. So, they surrendered her.
Now Brownie is well-loved and happy in her MAESSR foster home. Housetrained, Brownie has good inside manners and sleeps through the night on her bed in her foster parents’ bedroom. There has been no need to crate her since she is so trustworthy. Although she has been presented with plenty of opportunities to do so, Brownie has not been interested in counter-surfing. Good girl!
This active, mature Springer is fine with the two resident Springers and has done well meeting other dogs in the park. The resident Springers are older and don’t want to play. Brownie reads them loud and clear and will respect their space. Since they do not want to play, Brownie has decided that chasing the resident cat will be her game of choice; this is not the cat’s idea of a fun time. So, because she is very intent on playing this game, Brownie should not be placed in a home with cats, unless the cats are ones who will firmly stand their ground.
Brownie is a large, big-boned Springer who loves to play and race up and down the stairs. Though she might topple over a small child, older kids will love her! She adores petting and attention and will follow you around in the house. At age eight, she has lots of energy, loves to play and go for long walks. Upon arrival in foster care, she quickly pulled out all the toys in the house, seeing what treasures were awaiting her! When out for a walk, she does pull on the leash; however, with the addition of a no-pull harness and a 15 foot leash, walks are fun for all. Brownie loves to ride in the car and is a pleasant passenger.
Recently, Brownie was taken for a swim in a river and she loved swimming and running in the water! Outside in the yard, she loves to sniff out critters and will follow their scent with her nose. She might be a good mouser since she is very interested in the garage and the wood pile! A fenced yard would be best for this active girl in her forever home. After all of her activity and it is quiet time in the house, she will lie down and chill out.
Brownie would do best with an active family with older kids and another dog!
