Brownie/Browny is a ten-year-old liver and white field Springer rescued from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She has spent most of the last few years tied up during the day and taken inside at night. A threat of bears in the neighborhood and general neglect has brought her to MAESSR. She has hunted pheasant in the past, and we have heard that she was pretty good. For her age, she has a lot of energy and loves to go on long walks or just run around the back yard with a toy. Browny is definitely a people dog and loves all of the attention her foster mom and dad give her.
Since she has been to her foster home, she has not shown any aggression to any person she has met. Even strangers have been greeted with a wagging stubby. This lovely disposition turns a bit sour around the other two Springers in the house. We were told that she was fine with other dogs, however, there has been some growling and barking. This is most likely due to the fact that she is in heat and is now in a new home. Her previous owner assured us she was spayed – what a surprise when we realized she was not. We have kept her separated from the our dogs and are slowly getting her used to them. She will be spayed before she is adopted. Browny is a sweet girl who is looking for a home that will give her all the attention she wants and deserves.
Can you give Browny the love and attention she is craving?
Update 6/19/2003:
Browny’s craving has been soothed. She had a wonderful family to spend her golden years with.
