Original: When his New Jersey owners separated and moved, Bronson was the casualty of their divorce. MAESSR pulled him from the shelter he was taken to, and his new life began.
This big, beautiful, liver and white boy with gorgeous, speckled legs has become the star attraction in his foster home! He has blended in quite well with the household routine, showing excellent manners in all areas and thus earning free reign of the house! The only disagreements that Bronson has had with his foster mom and dad are the ones where Bronson wants to “upgrade” his sleeping arrangements! Bronson currently sleeps on a bed on the floor of his foster parents’ bedroom, but he can’t help occasionally trying to “move up in the world” by getting on his foster parent’s bed. With a quick “down,” he returns to his own bed with just a disappointed look on his sweet face.
With Bronson’s wonderful behavior, he has been granted full house privileges, even when no one is home. He doesn’t have the energy of a puppy, but he definitely isn’t over the hill yet! He is excellent on car rides, just reclining on the back seat, and he is good on a leash as well. Refresher commands are being worked on. He knows sit, down, come, out, and stay. And Bronson is as gentle as a lamb when he takes food from one’s hand! At times he will pick up the household dog toys and play with them, and he seems at times as if he is attempting to engage in play with the other dogs, but just doesn’t quite know how. Bronson very much enjoys a good wrestling/scratching match on the floor now and then, he really enjoyed having 11- and 12-year-old boys visit for the weekend. The only time he attempts to get on the furniture, except at bedtime, is when there is a lap involved. This trim 55-pound boy thinks he is a Yorkie!
His foster family is still working on figuring out his “dislikes.” At this point, it appears he doesn’t like his paws handled unless HE offers them, then it’s fine! He likes to “sit” in front of you and give you both his paws and be loved on. He is soooo beautiful when he does that! The foster mom and dad are still working on “taking” and “trading” food with Bronson.
Overall, Bronson is a beautiful, wonderful, well-behaved fellow. As he settles into his foster home, more and more of his personality and his likes and dislikes are shaping up. He would most likely do well with a younger, more active family that can give him the play and exercise he enjoys. Could this be the “buddy” for your family?
