Young Brody came into MAESSR’s care from a shelter in central Pennsylvania. He had been living on a chain until a Good Samaritan and astute humane officers intervened and put an end to his difficult situation. Brody was very timid when first meeting his foster dad but quickly sensed he could trust this stranger and slept with his head on his lap for the ride home. At 43 pounds, Brody is underweight with some ribs showing. He is drinking and eating well and should begin to gain to a healthy weight with regular meals in a caring home.
There are no children or cats in Brody’s foster home but there is a female springer with whom he has bonded strongly. He is sleeping through the night on his bed next to his canine companion in his foster parents’ bedroom.
Brody is not housetrained at this time but work on that has begun. His indoor manners will need some shaping………it’s clear he already likes to counter-surf! He is full of energy, especially when on a leash, and pulls hard. This too is an area of training this youngster will be working on. He does come when called but, at this time, that is his only command.
Brody is a warm and friendly dog who needs a lot of love, attention and a few pounds. He’ll get all that and more as he embarks on his new beginning. Updates to come as he makes progress……………
