Original: Brittany is a delightful, gentle, sweet-natured, and mannerly ten year old that came to MAESSR from Brittany rescue– a case of mistaken breed identity! She loves being with her human foster family and would love to be the center of the human universe. Britt is not keen on sharing her space with the three resident dogs and competing for human attention. Forget about other dogs for companionship! She will “smile,” growl and even snip at her canine peers but will not engage in a fight. Yet, she will get up close to the resident dogs when she wants to.
Brittany has no food aggression and she likes to be fed with someone nearby. Her foster family is helping her slim down. Right now, she is a little butterball who takes her time walking and climbing stairs. Britt would like to be up on the sofa but her foster family is teaching her that the floor is a better place for dogs during the day. It’s also clear she would prefer the softness of her people’s bed to a doggie bed at night. Even though Brittany is able to stand on her hind legs, she does not counter-surf. She is great in the shower for home grooming and does not mind when her foster mom uses a blow dryer on her or brushes her.
Brittany is housebroken and will bark when she needs to go out. Her foster family has left her for up to six hours with no accidents. She has free run of the house and has had absolutely no problems, so her foster family has not been crating her. Brittany walks well on the leash and is very good with meeting strangers, showing them how sweet and affectionate she is. When someone is at the door, she will bark, though. Britt rides well in the car. She loves to play outside, but she’s very content to be inside— especially to be close to someone’s side. In her surrendering home, she was reportedly good with children and cats. However, she has not met either with her foster family so far.
This sweet senior girl will make a great companion. Won’t you be that special person with whom Brittany can spend her golden years?
