Original: “Bonnie can be a little timid with new things but builds confidence when shown there is nothing to fear.”
Little Bit and her five puppies—Bonnie, Bentley, Mia, Willow, and Faith– came to MAESSR when their Tennessee owner started having financial issues. He loved his Springer mama and her pups, but knew MAESSR would find them homes where they would be loved and receive good care.
Bonnie is a very active, happy puppy. This little girl loves playing and stealing toys from the younger resident dog. When she is not playing, she loves to cuddle with her foster mom and dad. Bonnie can be a little timid with new things but builds confidence when shown there is nothing to fear. She has already been introduced to the resident cat and has shown only a small interest in her kitty friend.
Her foster parents are working on her socialization, housetraining, crate training, house manners, and walking nicely on a leash. They proudly report she is doing very well in all of these areas! Bonnie already knows “sit,” “down,” and “come.” What a quick learner! While on her walks, Bonnie’s favorite pastime is to carry home the biggest leaf she can find!
Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Bonnie is very food motivated so training should be a breeze.
Bonnie would benefit in a home with an owner that can continue to build her confidence level and give her all of the training, exercise, and love that this Springer puppy deserves.
