Original: Blaze first came into rescue as a product of divorce. He has a really nice personality. He wants to be loved, but also likes to run and play. Despite his age, he is a high energy boy. He knows some commands: sit, stay and down. His foster family recommends an obedience class just as a bonding tool. It appears that he would be a great hunter, however, he is afraid of gunshots and thunder. He cannot be placed with cats.
His first day in foster care he went to an agility fun match with his foster mom. He was really interested in what was happening. He is good with other dogs. He would be fine with older children, but it is not recommended he be with small children. He has too much energy for small children. He has his AKC papers and pedigree. He is housebroken and crate trained. Blaze loves water very much.
Can he “Blaze” his way into your heart?
Update: Blaze has finished his heartworm treatment!! He is healthy and well. He is thin and needs to put on some weight, but other than that he is great!! He is quite the whiner if he is not where the family is. He would do best with no cats, he chases them. He is good with soft, older females.
Update: We moved Blaze into another foster home while we looked for a permanent home for him. He developed what we thought to be a bladder infection. We took him to the vet and when palpated, it was found that he had a mass at least the size of a softball on his bladder. Our vet considered it operatable. Blaze was in pain passing blood and lumps in his urine. With a heavy heart, we let him go. At least for his last year, he was well loved and cared for.
