Update 01/29/2019: “Known as ‘Baby Girl,’ she always, in spite of being blind, found the faces of those she loved and gave kisses.”
This love of a Cocker came to MAESSR from North Carolina and worked her way into the hearts of not only her foster family but also all who met her along the way. Known as “Baby Girl,” she always, in spite of being blind, found the faces of those she loved and gave kisses. But, sadly, her little body finally gave out, and Blanche, the little mountain goat who loved to climb everything, joined her many MAESSR friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
Run free and happy, little one.
Update 09/20/2017: “Life is good for this little sweetie!”
Now a permanent MAESSR foster, Blanche is known as “Baby Girl” in her foster home. She is so sweet and cuddly! Everyone who meets her thinks that she is just the sweetest dog ever.
Blanche’s health has improved and she is feeling good. That’s obvious because she is much more energetic and happy.
Recently Blanche went on a trip to another MAESSR foster home for the weekend. She adapted to the new environment quickly as she totally learned her way around the house and up the steps. She went wherever she wanted to go and had a blast. Life is good for this little sweetie!
Original: “She wags her tail constantly and gets along well with the resident Springer who is five times her size.”This sweet little girl, said to have a “grandma disposition,” came from a shelter in North Carolina, made her way to Virginia and into the heart of her current foster home! She’s such a gentle Southern gal, and even though blind, once she finds her person’s face, they are in for some kisses!
Blanche has earned many names–Baby Girl, Gracie Ann–she just comes to just about any name because she hears and loves the sound of her foster mom’s voice! Baby Girl seems to stick with her, because she is just that, a sweet baby girl!
Blanche loves sleeping in the big bed at her foster home; she is so excited to be in the “big bed” that she does a little dance and takes a few minutes to settle down. After all, goodnight kisses must be given, first!
Being of a given age, sometimes this love doesn’t give the cue to go potty; but, on a regular schedule, she will do all her business outside. During work hours, she is kept in a home office with her bed, food, water, toys and a pee pee pad. If she can’t make it until the dog walker comes at noon, she will use the pee pee pad. Good girl! If she does not go out regularly and is left to roam the house, she just might choose the bathroom rug as her own personal “bathroom.”
This gal LOVES being outside! She wags her tail constantly and gets along well with the resident Springer who is five times her size. She is not used to a leash, but is adjusting to one very quickly in her foster home where there is no fence. Topping off all her attributes, Blanche is a good car rider.
Blanche is a sweetheart of a “baby girl” who has shown she can adjust quickly to changes in her foster homes; she just wants to give kisses, play outside and love her people. A quiet home with a regular schedule will be best for this senior although she might just enjoy a four-legged friend of the canine variety.
