Original: Along with her sister, Beyonce was relinquished to MAESSR by a family in Pennsylvania. The family felt they could no longer care for the pair. Beyonce is a beautifully marked, nicely proportioned, and petite Springer -yes, petite, indeed. She weighs 21 pounds and is at a healthy weight. This makes her all the easier to enjoy as a true little lap dog!
Beyonce is a bundle of energy, very much a puppy who loves everyone she meets, gets along with other dogs and, although she is very interested in the resident cats, it is only to try to play with them. Beyonce loves toys, spending hours finding and collecting them in piles. At the same time, she will let other dogs or people take them from her with no problem. There has been no guarding or aggressive behavior from her over food or toys.
When it comes to manners, Beyonce is house trained and doesn’t counter surf. She will check out things on low tables, trash surf, get on furniture, and beg. She is bright. Since arriving in her foster home, she has learned no, sit, calm down, leave it, and come. Beyonce is very outgoing, wanting to investigate everything and everyone she comes across.
She has been bathed with no problem, although she is so starved for attention that grooming can take a while. She gets so excited that one must work around the wiggles. She sleeps in a crate at night in her foster mom’s room, is crated when the family is not home, and has the run of the house during the day.
Having never been introduced to collar or leash, there is a lot of work to do on her leash manners. She does pull but is beginning to listen and understand; she is doing well until she sees something that excites her. This little girl is so much fun to watch as she discovers the world she has never seen.
Beyonce needs a home with people who are willing to help her adjust to her widening world and who lead a fairly active life, as she likes to be on the go. She will make an enjoyable, devoted companion as she is a sweet girl and a true cuddler at the end of a busy day.
