Original: Betsy was turned into a shelter as a stray. Betsy is eager for attention, but not too obtrusive. She is very sweet and loves hugs. She’s a very small Springer and weighs in at only 30 pounds.
Betsy was obviously well taken care of in her other life. She takes treats out of your hand very gently and will play fetch with the tennis ball. She loves to crawl into your lap for hugs and attention, and will fall asleep with her muzzle against your neck. Since she’s only 30 pounds, it’s like holding a baby! She’s housebroken and has had the run of our house with no problems at all. She has such a sweet face and loves any attention you can give her. She understands “no” and “outside” (the latter probably because our dogs run to the back door when they hear that word!).
Betsy will will run out the door if it’s left open, so her new family should either have a fenced yard or only allow her outside on a leash. We are working on her leash manners, as she does need some work there.
Betsy is in foster care with two of the families Springer’s, a male and a female. She does well with them both. She loves everyone she meets including the neighborhood children. She is still a young Springer and though she’s small, she could perhaps knock over a very small child in her excitement.
Betsy will make a great addition to any home. Is she the one for you?
Update: Sadly, Betsy had to be put to sleep because she bit.
