Ben is a very, very sweet boy. We’re not clear on his complete story, but this is what we know. Ben was owned by an older couple who may have adopted him from the shelter. One member of the couple became ill, and Ben was brought back. Another family adopted him, kept him for four days and brought him back. They claimed that he was not housebroken.
This is what we really know about Ben. He gives every appearance of being housetrained. He knows to pee when outside and has made no effort to mark any furniture in the house. He loves, and I mean, loves people. He wants everyone to pet and love him. He knows a few basic commands, sit and down and walks reasonably well on a leash.
Ben does like to jump on people – to tell them he loves them. He is also a bit anxious. He’s been in a shelter for a while and is probably overwhelmed to be back in the land of the living. He will pace and pant, but ultimately, he calms down and will relax. Ben is basically crate-trained but would need some work to make him truly comfortable.
Ben is really looking for a new owner. He bonds with anyone who spends more than a few hours with him. He desperately wants someone to take him home, love him and let him be their dog.
