Bee Bop is very friendly and was given up because the family had a mentally retarded son (adult) and it was not working out. The shelter also said that the son has visited the dog on a few occasions while the dog has been impounded, he obviously loves her. If you look at the age of the dog, as one can figure, she was a Christmas present that grew up! The mother finds the dog too much to handle and this is the bottom line. She is currently in a kennel with another dog (7 month old mix) and is a pleasure to be around. She is not altered and they are not sure about shots. The owner said she was on heartworm preventative, but could not give vet information. The shelter is currently overflowing and is doubling up dogs.
Bee Bop just moved into her new foster home. She is housebroken and crate trained. However, she is jealous and protective when around other dogs. She can play with them, but would do best as the only pet in a household. She goes to be spayed on Thursday. We’ll post more as we have it.
Sadly, Bee Bop’s jealousy was more than that. She has been attacking dogs, lunnging and growling at people. There is no way that she could safely be placed in a home. The saddest part is that at her young age, this behavior must be as much from bad breeding as from upbringing.
