Beau is a wonderful large teddy bear. He is housebroken and has excellent house manners. He gets along great with other dogs and is not sure about cats. He pulls a little on the leash. He weighs 58 pounds but is not overweight. He did very well with his previous foster family’s 3 children (6,8 & 10). He has not growled, snapped or seemed aggressive in the least. Beau knows basic commands such as come and sit and will counter surf if given the opportunity. He is a big teddy bear who loves people and food and thinks he should be a lap dog.
Beau and his brother George were surrendered to a shelter because their owner died and a relative took the boys only to surrender them because their dog did not get along with them. This is his fifth home since his owner died.
Beau went to the vet and it was discovered that he had a heart murmur. He was then extensively checked. His pulse rate is 40 -a normal low pulse rate is 80. He has an enlarged heart. Every part of his body, except his heart, is in excellent shape. The vet “guesstimates” his currently life expectancy at 3 to 4 years. This enlarged heart is not slowing him down at all.
He is very active when outside and is your normal “couch potato” indoors. His favorite game is chase the tennis ball. His favorite activity is to sit on your lap and love you….and he has ALOT of love to give.
