Bandit is now with a wonderful family to love him!
Original:
Bandit was turned into the shelter by his owner because they did not have time for him. He was being crated and left alone 12/14 hours a day. Bandit was originally being handled as an OR by MAESSR but the owner refused to have him neutered. We had him neutered at the shelter and brought UTD on his shots before he came to his foster home. He let foster mom cut through his mats which were the size of baseballs, attaching his under ear to the side of his head. Once the mats were removed, he stood patiently while he got a good ear cleaning. His lower front teeth are a bit worn for a 2 yr. old, but he probably did a lot of chewing during all those hours left alone. Bandit is the perfect size, has beautiful markings and sports a big smile.
Bandit is a very sweet and silly springer. He is housebroken and crate trained. He will leap on the coffee table and than onto the sofa, looking so proud of himself. However, he gets down quickly when foster mom tells him ‘off’ in her big voice. He will fall asleep on his bed at night but somehow sneaks his way on to the bottom of foster mom’s bed, snuggling close to foster brother. Bandit will attempt to counter surf, taking lead from his foster brother ‘s perfect timing skills. We are working on improving his house manners.
Bandit has had little or no training. He has learned to sit for his treats and patiently wiggles at the door for his walk. He does pull on the leash. Bandit will benefit greatly from an obedience class, as he is eager to learn and very smart.
Bandit loves the car, he will put his paws on the back headrest and wave at cars. He found great pleasure when they returned his welcome with a toot of the horn. While walking on leash, he will try to jump into every parked car we pass by…..maybe he has a future as a Nascar driver?
Bandit gets along great with the 2 resident springers. He and the resident male will get up on their back legs, wrap their front legs around the neck and dance around in circles….to cute for words. He quickly learned that the resident female is the boss, and never to test her on winning all the games of tug……that’s just the way it goes at her house!
Bandit completely ignores the 3 senior cats, even when his companions are in hot pursuit, he will not join in.
Foster mom has pulled bones from his mouth while he is chewing and he does not react. He just tilts his head and looks at you with those soulful eyes and silly grin.
Bandit was raised with children ages 8 – 15 yrs. He probably has to much enthusiasm for younger children.
Bandit needs a family that is willing to spend the time with him that he deserves and provide him a secure and loving home. In exchange he will be a wonderful, loyal and loving companion.
Bandit want to know…. Can he rob you of your heart?
