Original: “An energetic, friendly dog, Bailey loves to cuddle with his people. “
Bailey was relinquished to MAESSR because his young owner was not in a position to properly care for him. Her North Carolina boy had previously been left behind by an owner who no longer wanted him. The new owner had been doing her best over the past few months to care for Bailey but would like to see him with a family who can give him the love, care, and attention he deserves.
An energetic, friendly dog, Bailey loves to cuddle with his people. Once he warms up to them, he is very loyal and loveable. He is still unsure when meeting new people so his new family will have to continue to work on this behavior. Bailey does well with kids but may be too much for little ones. He loves to play keep away and tug-of-war.
Bailey has some anxiety about new things and being left alone. He was started on an inexpensive medication that is helping him to calm down so he can think through new situations. His adopting family will be required to keep him on this medication for a minimum of six months after adoption.
Crate trained and about 95% housetrained, Bailey has been neutered and his urinary tract infection is clearing up, so he is feeling much better. This little fellow will counter-surf but is quickly learning that is not acceptable in his foster home. He does not guard his food or toys.
This boy has not had much training, but he is very smart and wants to please. His foster mom is thrilled with how quickly he catches on to new things. He is okay to be bathed and can be touched all over. When riding in the car, he will whine and pace.
MAESSR is requiring a series of obedience classes for Bailey and his new family within four months of adoption. This will help Bailey understand the rules of his new life.
Bring this pint-sized Springer wannabe into your family and you will have a wonderful, loving, playful companion!
