When a kennel in Maryland closed, MAESSR stepped in to help with the placement of the dogs.
Sweet Aurora came to MAESSR when she was pregnant and in poor health. She had an extremely bad urinary tract infection that took several antibiotics and five months to clear. In addition she had several types of intestinal worms, which also were difficult to eliminate. Although she was in bad shape, Aurora retained a wonderful temperament through it all.
Aurora gave birth to six puppies, yet only three survived. It is suspected that her poor health was the cause. She was, however, an excellent mother to her three pups. Once the puppies were weaned, Aurora was to have her spay surgery with the hope it would reduce the hormone levels and help eradicate the UTI. However, when the pups were weaned, several masses were found in her mammary chain. The vet elected to remove half of them during her surgery and then perform a second surgery to remove the remaining masses. Fortunately there was great news for Aurora when all of the masses were found to be benign.
Now a house dog, Aurora has displayed excellent house manners. She loves sleeping with her people too. Being close to her people is her favorite thing…with food coming in a close second!
This wonderful girl has weathered many traumas, all with a terrific disposition. She’s now ready for her forever family.
