Update 09/04/2013: “He’s lacked for nothing that keeps Springers happy, fit and sleeping soundly at day’s end!“
Summer has come to an end and, only with the pool closing at his home, will Arthur’s swim time come to a halt. This lively youngster has really enjoyed a great summer. He’s had lots of people to meet and greet. There have been lots of dogs to play with, continuing good health, and, of course, all that outdoor exercise! He’s lacked for nothing that keeps Springers happy, fit and sleeping soundly at day’s end!
Arthur made the transition to his foster home well as most Springers do. Having proven himself to be quite adaptable, he could now fit into any home with active people, active dogs, and even mellow kitties. If a pool, pond, lake, river, creek or beach was part of the recreation scene for his adopting family, that would be great. He might enjoy biking, hiking, running, cross-country skiing, sailing, dog agility, canine nose work or other active sports too……….just as long as he got to do them with his people regularly.
Arthur is as social as he is energetic. He’s a dog who will enjoy being introduced to visitors in his home as a member of the family. He’ll grin when center stage in pictures of his family’s adventures. He simply needs his own family again. If you enjoy an active lifestyle and an equally active dog, Arthur could be a perfect match for you. Ask about meeting him…………with the pool closed, he’s prime to begin a fall/winter sport!!!
Original: “Arthur is full of youthful enthusiasm and will require a family who is willing to spend time each day helping him to burn off that energy.”
Arthur is an adorable field bred Springer who loves to run and play ball. He came into MAESSR’s care because his owner felt he needed more room to romp than he had living in Washington, DC. Arthur is full of youthful enthusiasm and will require a family who is willing to spend time each day helping him to burn off that energy.
An extremely smart and strong dog, Arthur pulls on the leash if he’s heading somewhere he wants to go. He would prefer to be off leash, running free in the woods. Arthur is also crate trained and usually sleeps in his crate at night. He travels in a car very well. Although he has not been to obedience class, he knows the commands “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “no.”
Keeping this handsome boy out of the pool at his foster home is a huge challenge as Arthur LOVES to swim. Good thing there is a gate to block access or he would be in the pool even more often than he is now! He would swim for hours if he was allowed. Arthur’s foster mom thinks he would have to be leashed near a river or lake. Ideally, his forever home will have a pool or access to some water to make sure that he gets his much needed daily exercise. Arthur’s favorite things include balls, stuffed toys, balls, chew toys, and balls! Did we mention really loves to run and chase his ball? If you’ve got a good throwing arm, ask about meeting Arthur today!
