Adeline, or Addy for short, is a beautiful pup with a full tail that is forever wagging! She along with her littermates Zinnia and Yoder came from a shelter in Maryland. Their owner had left them behind when he moved.
Although she did have some submission urination when first entering the vet’s office, Addy got her shots and had her blood sample taken like a pro. She actually returned to the vet later that day so she could have her microchip implanted. This time she showed not hesitancy; she was happy and outgoing despite having had blood taken and lots of shots at this very place. Addy even enjoyed her car ride to the vet! She’s a good passenger.
Addy loves to run and chase rabbits, squirrels and birds – especially birds! Her foster dad thinks she’d make a terrific gun dog. She certainly is not shy! She would most likely chase cats, as she showed a great deal of interest in the veterinarian’s resident office felines who regarded Miss Adeline with great disdain.
Adeline is a very sweet, loving dog who loves to snuggle. She will often come to her foster dad while he’s working and stand up on her hind legs so she can lay her head in his lap. She is mostly housebroken, only having a few accidents since she has come into foster care. When her foster family leaves for the day, Addy has had free run of the house with the resident dogs without any accidents. Addy is progressing nicely with the commands come and sit. She will come most of the time when called by voice, but when her foster dad gives five blasts on his field whistle, Addy comes running to him immediately! She has not learned stay yet, but that will be next. As far as walking on a leash, she used to pull, but now she is getting much better.
Addy folded into the pack of resident dogs quickly, showing her adaptability. She has a more dominate personality and joined in the roughhousing immediately with the two biggest resident dogs. She is a high energy girl whose switch is either on or off. Only occasionally do you see her at a slower speed. Her foster dad believes she would thrive best in a household where she is not the only dog. She loves to play with the pack!
To know Addy is to love her. Her foster family loves her already. Somebody better claim her quickly!
