Original: “Addison loves to play fetch. This gal fetches anything that is thrown for her………. balls, sticks, stuffed toys.”
Addison came into MAESSR’s care due to some food aggression that her family could not handle. The family had very small children and was afraid one of the children would get hurt in the middle of a ruckus. In her foster home, Addison is around several dogs eating at one time and the food aggression has not been a problem. She also will steal food from young children’s hands, so her ideal forever home will not have little people in it nor ones who visit regularly.
When it comes to house manners, Addison has most of her basics in place. She is crate trained and likes to sleep in one at night. This sweet Pennsylvania gal has free roam of the house when her foster family is at work and has not caused a problem. Her infractions are few………she will check out the trash can and loves to steal pieces of paper. She has been known to counter surf and to have some submissive urination.
Addison never went to obedience school but does know “sit”, “stay” and “come.” She rides “ok” in a car as long as someone is sitting beside her or petting her. She does not get car sick. Addison will pull on the leash but, with more practice, she should fine tune this skill.
Addison loves to play fetch. This gal fetches anything that is thrown for her………. balls, sticks, stuffed toys. She has never been around water so it’s unknown if she likes to swim but, with warmer weather coming, she may want to give it a whirl!
Always an anxious girl, Addison was displaying this anxiety in foster care. With her vet’s nod, her foster mom started her on an inexpensive medication to help her settle. It seems to be working as Addison is acting just like the other dogs in her foster home now.
This Springer is one that needs lots of love and attention. If you are looking for an active, well-mannered lovely to walk with and play in the yard, ask about meeting Addison. Just be sure to bring a ball when you come!
