Original: “This sweet and loving little girl just wants to be with her people.”
Addie was relinquished to MAESSR because she had begun chasing and killing the family’s chickens on their Virginia farm. The family felt she would be better in a home without chickens. Her foster family thinks that Addie should not be placed with small animals and even cats, either. Better safe than sorry.
This very active, energetic girl loves to run, get muddy and chase a ball or Frisbee for a little while. Although she has adequate vision, she is obsessed by reflections. She is very distracted by the flashing of light on the front door or on car windows. Since she is anxious about new things, she has been started on an inexpensive supplement to help with this anxiety.
Addie is fine with older children, having lived with one in her former home. She previously lived with dogs larger and smaller than she, and was fine with them all. She is loving to all people once she gets to know them. This sweet and loving little girl just wants to be with her people.
Crate trained and housetrained, Addie has good house manners. She is not an inappropriate chewer and she does not beg for food. Outside she does not dig nor try to jump a fence although going under one might be a possibility. This good girl does not jump on people in greeting. Addie isn’t wild about loud noises but is not afraid of thunderstorms nor does she have separation anxiety when she is left alone.
Addie knows “sit” and “come” and walks well on lead. She is also trusted off lead and rides well in the car. The groomer reports that Addie did not like being picked up nor does she like the clippers used on her rear. Addie does fine with feet and ear handling though. She is also head shy until she gets to know you.
Beautiful Addie will soon be ready to join her new forever family. Are you looking for a new best friend? Addie may be the girl for you!
