Abby knows her name well. She is a sweet and loving dog to all adults and children. She likes to collect things and toys from around the house and hide them in the sofa. She is most comfortable sleeping on the couch and covered with a blanket, this makes her feel safe and secure.
Abby loves to go for walks and does not pull on the leash. She seems to have had training in this area. She is completely housetrained, doesn’t bother the trash or countersurf. She has however put her paws on the kitchen table a few times but has gotten down when corrected. Unprotected plates of food are in danger of being eaten.
Abby has some issues as she is territorial once she has claimed her space. She is slowly growing accustomed to the two other springers in the house but will growl constantly at them if they come too close to her. She has shown aggression to the older of the two dogs and has attacked her twice with the second time drawing blood. When adopted, Abby should be the only dog in the house. She is getting accustomed to the three cats in the house also. She has chased them only when they get afraid and run from her.
Abby has claimed her foster mom as her own and won’t let the resident animals near her. Abby is wonderful to all the humans in the family, and you can do almost anything to her-pet her, check her teeth, ears and feet. She loves to be brushed.
Abby knows a few commands: up/down/sit/no, but being a strong-willed dog she doesn’t always come when you call her. Abby can benefit from obedience class and if worked with constantly she will be a fantastic dog for a lucky family. She rides extremely well in the car.
Abby will go into her crate reluctantly when coaxed with a treat and will bark to let u know that in her mind it’s time to get out! This is getting better with time, and the barking at bedtime is getting less.
This girl is looking for consistency ears scratches and full-time love in her life. Can you be the one to give this to her?
Update:
Abby is now with the family who will love her forever!
