Although it is rare for MAESSR to have puppies for placement, Cyd and her littermate Seger came into MAESSR’s care when a Springer breeder in Maryland developed serious health problems and had to rehome his dogs.
Seger has a wonderful temperament. He is a fun-loving little guy, ready for play and party time. He loves adventure as he explores the house and outdoors. Indoors, he and sister Cyd have discovered many fun things–pulling toilet paper, running around with shoes, snitching dish towels and socks, and a list of other activities. Seger loves toys and finds it really fun to pull toys out of the toy box. His future wish is for a super-sized toy box filled with toys.
Outdoors, Seger is a nose-to-the ground Springer. Fall has brought him the enjoyment of leaves. He and sister Cyd enjoy digging in the dirt; yard excavation is great fun to uproot hunks of grass. Carrying sticks is a favorite exercise as well.
Seger loves to cuddle and is already a by-your-side on the sofa Springer. This boy will definitely be Velcro.
This guy also loves to eat and brings a great appetite to meal time. He finds his way into the food bag tucked away into the pantry for an appetizer. Seger loves treats, particularly white fish biscuits and adores chew bones which he snitches from the resident Springers.
Seger loves to paddle in the water bowls. Baths do not bother him and he is great having his ears cleaned and toes touched. He loves any kind of attention. He does well with car rides and being in a crate during the car ride.
Seger loves to play with the two resident Springers. He shows all signs of getting along with other dogs.
Seger is in the process of being housetrained. This little guy does well in a crate and can hold his business for up to three hours at night or during the day. Seger will cry to let his family know it’s time for a potty break. He does well in a puppy-proofed, supervised space outside the crate in the house.
Note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience. MAESSR believes the decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. It will require the adoptive family to take Seger through two series of obedience classes within 90 days of adoption.
Seger is going to make a furever home very happy and full of sunshine.
